This is a great book with lots of beautiful pictures, and information. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking to get started on clean eating!

I never write reviews because I am too busy but this cookbook is so fabulous, I am compelled to review it. This book is perfect for those wanting to transition into a whole foods plant based way of eating but also excellent for those already there.HANDS DOWN MY BESTEST FAVORITE COOKBOOK , (I have 20 or so vegan cookbooks)Here are some if my favorites:. Buffalo Beans and Greens .. crazy good could eat it everyday.Warm Spinach and Mushroom Salad. ..could eat this everday too.Naan Bread... easy peasy.Marinated Tomato and Cucumber Salad ... lookout.BBQ Jackfruit...finally in a cookbook.Italian Eggplant Casserole..!!!!!.French Dip Sandwich..OMG.and the pièce de résistance Rueben CasseroleI plan to cook EVERYTHING in this book!GET THIS COOKBOOK

Since I have a PhD in Holistic Nutrition and Campell's Dad's text "China Study" was a textbook in the program, I'm very familiar with the work that these recipes are based on. At the time I was studying I always thought "someone should make a Cookbook of recipes for this way of eating!"The recipes here are an excellent foundation to follow and to build on if you don't know where to start.. and DO start eating this way, it helped me conquer Lymes disease, something very difficult to eradicate once you contract it.It may seem a bit of a pain to learn and then commit the time to do this. Let me motivate you: not only will you begin to feel and look younger (after you detox all the crap you've built up over time) NO ONE will ever be able to guess your age correctly! I'm well over 60 and people always guess me to be 49 or 50. Better yet, I feel even younger than that. Best of all I'm flexible, vibrant and happy. Not bad for someone plagued with years of depression before I started eating like this. You are what you eat, more clearly... What you eat will determine who/how you will BE.

I'm extremely disappointed in this cookbook! While the pictures are awesome (and pictures are a cookbook MUST in my opinion), a whopping 66 out of the 155 recipes (43%) contain a soy product (mainly tofu). Of the Entrees, 63% contain soy. We do not eat soy-products because they're so highly processed. Some of the recipes can be made without the soy product (e.g. make the tacos without the "vegan sour cream") but others use tofu/soy as a main ingredient, making modification difficult or impossible.To break it down, here are the numbers by category:6/16 breakfast/brunch recipes contain soy (38%)1/8 breads2/6 snacks/appetizers2/8 dips/spreads6/13 salads (46%)11/17 sauces, marinades, dressings (65%)8/12 sandwiches, burgers, wraps (67%)22/35 entrees (63%)0/10 side dishes2/10 soups, stews1/12 desserts and sweetsYou would think with a name "PlantPure" there would be less use of highly processed products. While there is a distinctive LACK of oils (also very highly processed) the author doesn't seem to think tofu also fits into the highly-processed category. The author doesn't use oils because they offer no nutritional value, but I suggest anything that's highly processed is inferior to it's whole-food counterparts.I would NOT recommend this cookbook to people who are looking for a whole-foods, plant-based diet.

This was exactly what I was searching for! I have a ton of vegan books but a lot of the recipes are super fatty. This book provides really tasty and exciting recipes without the use of oils. Definitely recommended.

Firstly this cookbook is BEAUTIFUL inside. I really enjoy the photos and presentation. It is full of easy plant based, oil free recipes. I love that it uses easily accessible ingredients and nothing "weird". I couldn't wait to dive into it. I'm sure this will end up at the top of my favorite cookbook pile. I would recommend it to those beginning a plant based diet or to those who have been doing it for a while. Five stars from me!

I probably have, I'm not kidding, 50 vegan cookbooks, and this is one of my favorites!!!! It is a whole food, plant based, low fat cooks gem! Lots of easy and quick recipes that are the BOMB! I would highly recommend this as with a first, only, or great addition to one's vegan cookbook library!

This has quickly become my favorite cook book! (and the same for many of my friends). Not only does it follow wise scientifically based healthy guidelines (low fat whole food plant based, the diet of the China Study and that Kaiser Permanente now advises its docs to prescribe for all patients), but it also is tasty and easy to prepare. I love that there are color photos for practically every recipe. It's well-organized and easy to follow, especially for me as a long time vegetarian recently gone vegan: lots of familiar ingredients like tofu, nutritional yeast, agave, etc. But Kim is clearly a master chef and has wonderful flavorful twists and has carefully adapted many familiar favorites to this way of eating. Go out and get some tabs and a fine tipped marker pen to make it your own. TIP: it is really really helpful to get an under counter recipe book holder (sold on Amazon) when working with a cookbook. I had not really used my cook books very much in the past, due to not having one and also, frankly, because many lack color photos to give you an idea of what you'd be eating and to entice you to fix it! Get one for yourself and get several for gifts!
