About the Author
Zack was born in 1948 in Switzerland; since 1973 he lives in the UK. He is a self-educated illustrator and started to design explicit gay comic strips in the early seventies, inspired by his very own erotic fantasies. The art, as one might expect from Oliver Frey, is quite good. The story, as far as I've gotten (about half way) drags and switches between interesting and vital; and boring/dragging. And then I wrote some not very positive things. Well the second half of the book was predictable, and quite well done actually. The story starts slow and builds momentum slowly. Past the half-way point the story and drawings actually get quite good. By this I mean the story kept my attention and caused me to consider/reconsider life in ancient cultures mainly Roman. Some people, even today, wield entirely too much power and/or wealth. ll in all, an interesting and readable book enriched by the art of Zack. A minor quibble: some words seem to have been used without understanding the true meaning and/or usage. An example: erect and ithyphallic are NOT interchangeable terms, they are equivalent terms. "…ithyphallic flesh jutted out." is pretty much equivalent to saying "His erection erection."
