The Cheetah was the magazine of the Rhodesian Light Infantry, one of the best fighting forces combating the Marxist terrorists who were trying to overthrow the government of Rhodesia. It made its appearance shortly before the creation of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia and, ultimately, the takeover of President-For-Life Mugabe.This slim volume is a commemorative "issue" of the magazine, and it has some excellent personal anecdotes by the fighters of that African war. It also had some interesting information about the fate of the Trooper Statue and the regimental colors (all of which would no doubt have been destroyed had they stayed in Zimbabwe) and the creation of a regimental museum in England. There are some awesome photographs, poetry and cartoons. Unfortunately some bits are redundant and the overall layout could have been done better. Still, a good book if you are interested in this conflict.
Memories!!!! Having served as a Yank in the RLI (and Grey's Scouts once they found out I could ride a horse) this brought back memories from my younger years. Yes, the memories were all good.
